23rd Annual Women’s Business & Buyers Mart
The Women’s Business & Buyers Mart is the tradeshow element of the Entrepreneurial Woman’s Conference, and serves as a one-stop shop for women entrepreneurs in every stage of business.
The Mart provides an opportunity for the established woman business owner to enhance the profitability of her business by establishing relationships with corporate and government buyers, and with other entrepreneurs. It also provides every woman business owner, from start-up to established, with top-notch business resources to help ensure her business is as efficient and productive as it can be.
For the past two decades, the Mart has helped successfully establish business relationships between women-owned businesses and the purchasing departments of major corporations and government agencies.

The Women's Business Development Center (WBDC) is thrilled to be presenting the 7th Annual Corporate Connections program at this year’s Entrepreneurial Woman’s Conference. Over the past six years, this extraordinary program has grown to be one of the most successful and popular elements of the conference.
Located on the Mart floor and strictly for certified WBEs, Corporate Connections provides WBEs with the opportunity to meet one-on-one with corporate and government purchasing decision-makers in closed-office sessions. Numerous WBEs have secured highly sought after contracts through this business relationship building model. Eligible WBEs will be pre-selected by corporate and government buyers for one-on-one meetings that will take place throughout the conference.
WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?
All WBENC certified WBEs are eligible to participate. A company’s WBE certification status must be current as of September 1, 2009.
*If you are selected for an appointment you must also register to attend the Conference.
HOW DO I REGISTER?
WBEs - Registration for Corporate Connections is now closed. WBEs who submitted the online Request for Appointment form on or before August 21, 2009 will be notified in early September of any Corporate Connections appointments for their company. For more information please contact

Each year, the Women’s Business Development Center’s (WBDC) Hall of Fame Awards recognize women entrepreneurs who have demonstrated unequaled strength, perseverance and creativity in their businesses, and who have embodied entrepreneurial success in various ways. The WBDC also recognizes advocates, corporations and government agencies who have demonstrated their enthusiastic commitment to the strengthening of women’s business ownership and economic development.
Keynote presenter Penny S. Pritzker
Penny Pritzker is an innovative business builder, a civic leader and philanthropist. As the chairman of four corporations: TransUnion, Classic Residence by Hyatt, The Parking Spot and Pritzker Realty, she describes her management approach as recruiting the right people, building teams and working with them to develop strategy, make capital investment decisions, and address significant issues. Ms. Pritzker also serves on the President's Economic Recovery Advisory Board which formulates and evaluates economic policy for President Obama and Vice-President Biden, and she was National Finance Chair of the Barack Obama for President campaign and Co-chair of the 2009 Presidential Inaugural Committee.

From Dream to Reality: Launching Your Own Business (For start-ups)

Registration for the conference is available online by clicking on the “Register Now” tab at the top of the page, or by calling (312) 853-3477 ext. 24. Tickets are $200 for women business owners and $225 for all others before August 31, 2009; after August 31, 2009, tickets become $275 for everyone, in advance and at the door. This fee includes access to all conference events. Individual tickets for the Hall of Fame Awards Luncheon, Women’s Business & Buyers Mart, and the Women’s Forum Luncheon are $125 each for everyone.
As the Official Hotel of this year’s Conference The Allerton Hotel Chicago, 701 North Michigan Avenue, is offering a special rate of $190 for attendees. September is one of the busiest convention months in Chicago; room rates are high and rooms downtown go fast. We encourage you to call early to reserve a room. The deadline for this special rate is August 16, 2009 at 5:00 p.m. or until the room block is full; please note, there are a limited number of rooms available at this rate and they will be given on a first come, first served basis. Transportation to and from The Allerton Hotel Chicago and Navy Pier (Taxi Drop-off #2) will be provided for the Conference. The shuttle will run on 15-20 minute intervals.
Parking is also available at Navy Pier. The garage entrances are located on the North side of the facility; follow the signs to Festival Hall B parking. Please note, the parking facilities are a separate entity from Navy Pier; at this time, there are no discounts on parking.
A complimentary coat and luggage check will be available for your use both days of the event; this will be located in the lobby at the Taxi Drop-off #2 entrance – the main entrance for our event.
