Penny S. Pritzker, an innovative business builder, civic leader and philanthropist, who is the chairman of four corporations, including TransUnion, Classic Residence by Hyatt, The Parking Spot and Pritzker Realty, will deliver the keynote address at the Hall of Fame Awards Luncheon at the 23rd annual Entrepreneurial Woman’s Conference at Chicago’s Navy Pier, 600 E. Grand Avenue, on Wednesday, September 16, at 12 noon.   The conference, presented by the Women’s Business Development Center (WBDC), will take place from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.

 
This year’s Hall of Fame award recipients are: 2009 Entrepreneurial Woman of the Year – Kim Holstein, CEO, Kim & Scott’s Gourmet Pretzels; 2009 Entrepreneurial Woman of the YearWBE Success, Sharon Castillo, Principal, SB Services, Inc.; 2009 Entrepreneurial Woman of the Year – Rising Star, Kali Evans-Raoul, President, The Image Studios; 2009 Advocacy Award – Lori Healey, President, Chicago 2016; and 2009 Corporate Support – Microsoft Corporation.
 
Several nationally-recognized women business owners will headline the Women’s Forum Breakfast on Wednesday, September 16, at 8 a.m. Always a lively, candid discussion, the speakers will share their personal stories of business success, as well as the greatest challenges they have faced, and offer advice for overcoming those challenges. Moderated by author and Chicago Sun-Times financial columnist Terry Savage, this year’s panel includes: Julie Cyra, Founder, West 20 Ranch and Saddle Company; Chef LaLa,Laura Diaz-Brown, Chef, Author, and Founder of SAVOR! Catering; Dee Robinson Reid, President and Founder, Robinson-Hill Group, Inc.; and Ellen R. Gordon, President, Tootsie Roll Industries, Inc.
 
The oldest and largest women’s business conference in the country features the Women’s Business & Buyers Mart, with more than 200 government and corporate buyers who are committed to purchasing products and services from women business owners.

Tickets are $200 for women business owners and $225 for all others before August 31, 2009; after August 31, 2009, tickets become $275 for everyone, in advance and at the door.  This fee includes access to all conference events.  Individual tickets for the Women’s Forum Breakfast, Hall of Fame Awards Luncheon and Women’s Business & Buyers Mart are $125 each for everyone. Registration for the conference is available online at www.wbdc.org, or by calling (312) 853-3477, ext. 24
