After affiliating herself with the Women's Business Development Center in May of 1999, Joyce Hutchens received entrepreneurial training, financial counseling, and through our Pre-Qualification process, was assisted in procuring a $32,000 SBA guaranteed loan from Seaway National Bank, which she used to established JDH Training & Communications Group, a Chicago-based firm which specializes in professional development, consulting and media/business communications.
The company offers nearly 40 business and lifestyle workshops, and is the only training company of its size in America with such a diverse menu of topics. Hutchens, who began her firm as a one-person home-based operation, is in the process of hiring three more employees to service the more than half-million in projected business and committed contracts the company has successfully acquired. JDH’s client list includes respected institutions such as UPS; City of Chicago; United States Federal Government; Chicago Board of Trade; Loyola University Health System; Arbor National Mortgage; Chicago Board of Education; Seaway National Bank; and United Cerebral Palsy Association, Employment & Training.
