Client Testimonials
> Rosa Alvarado, Rosas Home Day Care |
From the time she was 14 years old Rosa Alvarado knew she wanted to be an entrepreneur. While growing up in Guadalajara, Mexico she worked towards her goal of owning a business. Rosa received a degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of Guadalajara. She was only able to practice for a year before immigrating to Chicago in 1988.
Fourteen years later, Rosa is the owner of Rosas Home Day Care located in the Cragin/Hermosa area, in Chicagos West Side. Her love for children and her determination has led her to the path of entrepreneurship.
"For my whole entire life, my goal had been to run my own business. I would not have achieved this if it were not for the support provided by the WBDC. It was comforting to receive support and assistance in Spanish. Janice Lopez provided me with the guidance and knowledge necessary to develop a business plan, create financial projections and obtain a micro loan through the center. I am very happy to say that it was through the WBDC that I was able to fulfill my dream.
Rosas Home Day Care opened its doors in September of 2002. She is currently at full capacity and is seeking to expand her business by 2003."
