Description of Opportunity: 


The Access to Capital Program provides financing assistance, including direct lending, loan education, and loan packaging. The Associate Director of the Access to Capital Program supports the growth and administration of the Access to Capital Program with an initial focus on working with small businesses during the COVID 19 crisis and aftermath activities.

REPORTS TO: Managing Director of Access to Capital Services

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide technical assistance and counseling in the area of finance in both English and Spanish
  • Assist the WBDC team in the planning, coordination and delivery of workshops on financial and other business topics
  • Assist clients in loan package preparation including, but not limited to:
    • Assessing client readiness
    • Determining appropriate placement of debt or equity
    • Analyzing financial statements and tax returns
  • Promote the Access to Capital Program to prospective clients and partners
  • Originate loans under WBDC Direct Lending Program including, but not limited to:
    • Review of loan application and supporting documentation
    • Underwriting
    • Prepare and present complete package to WBDC Loan Committee for Approval
    • Preparation of loan documents for closing
    • Post loan technical assistance to borrowers as needed
  • Coordinate and oversee post loan closing with servicing partners to include:
    • Conducting lien searches, filing liens and perfection on vehicle titles
    • Filing residential and commercial real estate liens
    • Filing liens on other business assets
    • Disbursement of loan funds to clients
  • Provide support to the Director of the Access to Capital in back office work including:
    • Portfolio management and reporting
    • Loan Documentation
    • Collection Activities
    • Vendor Management
    • Client Advising
  • Other duties as assigned

 REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 2-3 years of business and finance experience, preferred
  • High analytical and financial acumen
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Passionate about women’s issues and economic development
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Finance, preferred
