Crain’s 2019 Notable Women Executives over 50

Emilia DiMenco heads the Women’s Business Development Center, a nonprofit that supports women’s business ownership and strengthens the impact of women on the economy. DiMenco joined WBDC in 2010 and was named to the top post in 2013, a transition from co-founders Hedy Ratner and Carol Dougal. Under DiMenco’s leadership, the center last year oversaw the support of nearly 3,000 businesses and the creation of 1,400 jobs, provided 5,600 hours of business counseling and invested $3.1 million in loan capital in area businesses. Before joining WBDC, DiMenco had a 30-year career at BMO Harris, where she was an executive vice president. She serves on a number of boards including the Illinois Business Enterprise Council and Illinois Charitable Trust Stabilization Fund.
