What inspired you to start your own business?
Left my family business to find my own path and build a name in manufacturing. Growing up in a manufacturing environment instilled in me a deep-rooted passion for the industry. What began as a young girl’s determination to contribute more significantly than just performing clerical duties evolved into a lifelong mission to be part of an industry that brings people together to MAKE something that will go on to serve a bigger purpose.
What is a business milestone or achievement that you are most proud of?
Digital Transformation – taking it from old and grimy to advanced high tech with a clean shop and having my team alongside me.
What challenges have you faced as a woman business owner, and how did you overcome them?
“Back then” and now, I would say the greatest external challenge is dealing with people who cling to their own assumptions about someone else’s appearance or background. Other than that, just like many CEOs in the machining industry, the challenges include Workforce Development, Operational Efficiency, and staying up to speed with innovation.
What advice would you give to aspiring women entrepreneurs?
The world may seem unfair, but it doesn’t owe anyone anything. Work for what you want and it will be yours, sooner or later. Learn to ignore those who find fault in everything you do. Don’t let their negativity deter you from stepping outside your comfort zone! Remember, many women have achieved success in this industry – it’s meaningful and definitely worth pursuing.
