What inspired you to start your own business?
I saw that greeting card aisles today seem to strive to appeal to the masses and miss leaning in with deeper intention. I was tired of reading a million cards that didn’t really say anything, especially sympathy cards. I decided I could create in this space so the cards I always wished existed could.
What is a business milestone or achievement that you are most proud of?
For every card purchased on our website, we donate a card to nonprofits serving people who need encouragement and connection. To date, we have donated thousands of cards to bless grieving families, kids going into foster care and more. We are also in HomeGoods nationwide.
What challenges have you faced as a woman business owner, and how did you overcome them?
Most Big Box are locked down by the big greeting card companies or geared towards only big companies success. I have focused on my match donation program and seen people love the work I am doing, love our missional messages, and love to be apart of the mission with me. The traction of lives blesses and souls encouraged is the thing I am most proud of.
What advice would you give to aspiring women entrepreneurs?
Do something that aligns with who you are. Are you aligned with your purpose? If so, you will be able to weather the ups and downs of entrepreneurship.
