Women’s Business Development Center Seeks to Help South Suburban Entrepreneurs Through Coronavirus Closings

Olympia Fields resident Bianca Robinson is among small and microbusiness owners in the south suburbs feeling the pain from the coronavirus.

She’s watched revenues take a hit at her Flossmoor-based operational management consulting company, Cayden Cay Consulting, which she started in 2012 and grew from roughly $9,000 in revenues her first year to $148,000 last year.

“For most of my clients, we do in-person, two-hour assessments. I have had eight assessments to be canceled so far,” she said. “Those assessments are $1,000 a piece, so I have already lost $8,000 from that alone.”

The company, which has one employee and whose clients are other small business owners, also has experienced a significant drop in its online training classes and webinar business. Read more>>
