Latest Update on the Corporate Transparency Act and Beneficial Ownership Information Reporting Requirement

On 3/21/25, the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) announced that it is issuing an interim final rule removing the requirement for U.S. companies and U.S. persons to report beneficial ownership information (BOI) to FinCEN under the Corporate Transparency Act.

As it stands now, all entities created in the United States and their beneficial owners have been exempted from the requirement to report BOI to FinCEN.

Since FinCEN is accepting comments on this interim final rule and intends to finalize the rule this year, we recommend that you stay alert for any further updates on the FinCEN website.
