Welcome to our WBE Spotlight Series! Today, we’re thrilled to shine the spotlight on Tanya Bryant, CEO and Co-Founder of Netcessity LLC. Join us as we delve into Tanya’s entrepreneurial journey and uncover the driving force behind her success in the automotive accessories industry.
What inspired you to start your own business?
It all started with the desire to solve a common frustration and safety concern resulting from items falling off the passenger seat during stops or turns. In 2018, we designed a sophisticated car net for the passenger seat which not only ensures items stay in place where you put them, but also prevents distractions and enhances the overall driving experience by providing a secure, convenient storage solution.
What is a business milestone or achievement that you are most proud of?
We were granted a patent in 2021, and we have been recognized by several global organizations for our quality and innovative design: The Business Concept – Most Innovative Car Accessory 2023 USA; The Business Concept – Most Trusted Accessory Manufacturers 2023 USA; Corporate Live Wire – Innovation and Excellence Award 2024; Mom’s Choice Award; Parents’ Picks Awards 2024 Winner.
What challenges have you faced as a woman business owner, and how did you overcome them?
We haven’t faced particularly major challenges as women business owners. In this day and age, companies are seeking women and minorities to become part of their business operations providing products or services. Being a woman business owner is a badge of honor to be worn proudly . . . no longer an obstacle.
What advice would you give to aspiring women entrepreneurs?
This is an incredible time to be a woman entrepreneur! There are innumerable support networks (like WBENC) and companies looking to partner with women like never before. The doors are open. Do what you love. And expect to be uplifted and rewarded!!
Netcessity LLC
Netcessity LLC, established in 2018, is a woman-owned family business created by a mother and her two daughters who transformed an everyday driving challenge into an innovative solution. Their shared experiences on the road inspired the creation of their flagship product, the Netcessity® Seat Caddy. Applying for a patent is a critical part of the journey for IP protection. The team took on the responsibility to apply for their patent Pro Se (without an attorney) and with USPTO Pro bono IP law clinics. After receiving their patent in 2021, they were recognized by the USPTO in their “Journeys of Innovation” program for successfully completing the patent process on their own.
The Netcessity® Seat Caddy is a cleverly designed car net organizer that secures items on the passenger seat, preventing belongings from spilling, falling to the floor, or becoming dangerous projectiles during braking or turning. By keeping items safely in place, this practical solution enhances driving safety by eliminating the distracting and dangerous behavior of taking eyes off the road or hands off the wheel to catch sliding items.
